My Grandparents are Celebrating Their Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my maternal grandparents. I have always loved my grandparents and enjoyed being around them. But, it seems as an adult, I have a greater appreciation for them and the knowledge they possess. I am grateful that they are still living and that I had the opportunity to spend several days with them at Christmas (they live in a different state from me). I treasure time spent preparing meals together with grandmother. She taught me many wise tips from her years of experience. I love to listen to granddaddy tell stories from his life. A lot of interesting things happened to him.

Happy Birthday, Friend!

Happy Birthday to a dear friend, Jennifer. Jennifer has been my friend for 10 years or more. I met her the first day I moved to a new state after getting married. She was so kind to me and helped make the transition bearable. Over the years we've become fast friends and even though I've since moved to another state, we still talk and email often and even visit each other about twice a year. Thank you, God for providing a friend!!
Jennifer is pictured here with her husband, her children and my children during her recent visit to our corner of the world.

"Sin may enter the heart [of a Christian] and fight for dominion, but it cannot sit upon the throne. The Christian no longer loves sin. He looks upon it as a deadly serpent whose very shadow is to be avoided." -Charles Spurgeon

Not a Bridal Shower....It's a Groom Shower!

This was such a fun idea, I had to share it with everyone! A young man in our church is getting married soon, so we decided to throw a shower for the groom! We told him to register for things he would need as they "set up house." He registered at Lowe's, Home Depot, and Sears. The theme of the shower was "Auburn tailgate party" since the bride and groom are Auburn alum. We decorated accordingly and served tailgate foods: wings, sausage balls, chips/dip, pigs-in-blanket, brownies, etc. It was a huge success with enough tools, gadgets, etc given to Daniel to fill a shed!

Wedding Anniversary!!

Today is our wedding anniversary! I am so grateful for the husband God brought to me. I am also grateful for the happy marriage we enjoy! I hope God provides us with many more decades together.

Entering the Blog World

I am going to attempt to maintain a blog. It seems like such a great idea for keeping in touch with all our friends and family who live so far away. So bear with me as I figure this thing out and start posting comments and pictures for all to see. I hope to make this a place you can come periodically to check on us, see what we are doing and see pictures of us.
