Not a Bridal Shower....It's a Groom Shower!

This was such a fun idea, I had to share it with everyone! A young man in our church is getting married soon, so we decided to throw a shower for the groom! We told him to register for things he would need as they "set up house." He registered at Lowe's, Home Depot, and Sears. The theme of the shower was "Auburn tailgate party" since the bride and groom are Auburn alum. We decorated accordingly and served tailgate foods: wings, sausage balls, chips/dip, pigs-in-blanket, brownies, etc. It was a huge success with enough tools, gadgets, etc given to Daniel to fill a shed!

That is the coolest thing! My husband has always wondered why the bride gets all the "loot"! I think it would be wonderful to have one of those for my son and my future sons-in-law! It looks like it was a lot of fun, and what a great menu.

Hi Leah Belle,

I'm a journalist in New York working on a story about groom showers. I'd love to talk with you about the "tailgate" groom shower you through for this young man. It sounds like a very original idea.
If you're interested, please contact me at cet2111@columbia.edu. Any help you can give is most appreciated. Thanks so much!
Best,
