Our Trek - Day Four: This is where it got good! (July 23)

(a meandering stream as seen from the Trail Ridge Road)

As I have posted earlier, there is just no way to describe the beauty of the scenes we saw on our trip. Day four found us in Estes Park, Co. and then driving along Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. The views were breathtaking and unbelievable. I could not quit snapping pictures and as a result took at least 130 on this one day.
(Playing in the snow. My children never get to see snow. They were thrilled!)

We are praying for an opportunity to return to this part of the country!
(It's me!)

How do I choose between 130+ pics to show on a post? It's too hard. I've put a few here, but please go to the album here to see the rest! (once you get to the album, click on "view as a slideshow" on the right side of the page.)(These elk were watching all the people drive by and gawk at them)

Our entire trek served as an awesome reminder of God's power and grace. Joel and I both thought of this song and how it so well describes God's creative power.

Indescribable
------Chris Tomlin

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God(Alpine meadow!)

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God

Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same
You are amazing God
You are amazing God.

I am glad you all had a great time. The scenery is spectacular. No, it's better than that! Our God is an awesome God and created things for us to enjoy beyond what we could imagine and deserve. You are blessed to have seen parts of our country we take for granted and most will never see. I'm not a camper as you know, but this looks like a load of fun. Count me in for trip #2!! Also, congrats on the weight loss. YOU LOOK WONDERFUL!!

So amazing! I love your photos. I watched your whole slide show.

It's so funny to me to think that my family traveled the same road just DAYS after you did! And I'm pretty sure we saw the same herd of bull elk that you photographed, only we weren't able to get nearly as close as you were. Aren't they gorgeous?

PS...a guy I went to college with wrote "Indescribable", the song you mentioned. Cool, huh?
