Dinosaur Trees!

Are you familiar with Kudzu? It is a vine native to Japan and China but grows well in the Southeastern United States. When left uncontrolled it will eventually grow over almost anything including other vegetation. It is pretty much impossible to kill and so, as you can imagine, is a real pest! It did however supply us with a good grin the other day. As we drove by an area covered in Kudzu, my son yelled out "Dinosaur Trees!" I guess they do kind of look like dinosaurs, huh?

I have never seen trees like this before. They look like something from the movie "The Never Ending Story". Loved that movie.

Since I'm not originally from the South, I love Kudzu! I don't have any in my yard, though, so I can look at it along the roadside and think about how pretty it looks as I drive by... it's kind of enchanting to me. For the longest time, I couldn't understand people wanting to kill it off and get rid of it. It makes me sad when the leaves all dry up in the wintertime, and I always look forward to it coming back in the spring. Weird, I know...

Cool! :^D I think someone should build dinosaurs just for the Kudzu to consume. That would look super cool.
