April in Colorado

We are back at my parents' house in KC/MO. We were welcomed to the city by a huge thunderstorm that spawned tornadoes. There were strong winds, lots of rain and hail. And when the sirens went off, we moved to the basement for a few minutes. We are grateful that there was no damage in this area, but there were places in other parts of the city that did have damage.

We had a wonderful time in Colorado during the past two weeks. I can't wait to tell you more and show you pictures, but first there are the daily grind issues to take care of: pay bills, do laundry, check on the house in Alabama, do more laundry, and did I say laundry?

Meanwhile, here is a list of what makes being in a cabin in Colorado during the month of April so great:

cozy flannel sheets

white aspens against green pines

a whistling tea kettle

bright blue skies

a crackling fire in the wood stove

warm down comforters

the sound of wind blowing through the evergreens

purple mountains at sunset

snow in the shadow of trees

crisp morning air

the smell of pine

peace

Did you say snow? Oh, my husband would love to be there right now! Glad you all had a great time. Can't wait to talk.

The time you spent in the cabin sounds wonderful and so relaxing. Looking forward to hearing more about your trip.

Good luck with the laundry. I am off to do some myself.
