Sister-in-law; Friend

One of my hubby's sisters (he has four) visited us last week. Cassie lives in NC with her hubby and kiddos. We used to live in NC, too. I moved there right after our wedding to join Joel who had already been living there a little while. We said our vows in Oklahoma, said good-bye to my family at the church and went on a week long honeymoon. That honeymoon ended at our new home in NC. So, after the whirlwind of wedding stuff, I was immediately transplanted to a new state! Cassie was the only person besides my hubby that I knew. And she was great! She welcomed me with open arms. She was careful to include me in so many activities and make me feel right at home. She helped me stencil a border in my new kitchen. She invited me into her home on the nights my hubby traveled to seminary. We spent lots of time doing scrapbooks, making Christmas cards and other craft projects. Our families spent Easter and Thanksgiving together. We celebrated birthdays, she babysat my daughter....We became more than sisters-in-law. I count her as friend!

It was fun to have her and her family here this past week. Even though we see each other a lot less than we used to, and don't talk on the phone nearly as much as we should, I still love to be around her. Their visit was way too short, but lots of fun. Cassie and I stayed up way too late talking, but it was worth it. Friends are blessings...family who are friends are even better!

I'm glad you had a nice time visiting with your sis-in-law. I'm jealous of that--I'm not really that close to my two sister's in law and we live far apart. I would love to spend some time like that with my sisters though!!

I'm thankful for my sister-in-laws. God has done amazing things in their lives over the past couple years. We have watched their marriages put back together when we thought that would never happen! We have also watched as they have accepted Christ and followed Him in baptism. I have one more sister-in-law, who lives in Ohio. She is lost and we are all praying for her. We (Mike's whole family) will be visiting her in May as her 2nd daughter graduates from high school. I hope she will answer God's call and accept him as well.

I'm glad Cassie and her family got to come see you. We saw them a couple of week's ago and they were very excited about their trip. I couldn't believe how BIG her boys were.

I'll let you go, I have blabbed enough and it is time to hop in the shower! Love ya!
