6. a paid month of leave for the purpose of renewal, study, personal growth.
7. something given to my hubby that we all get to participate in.
8. a time period that begins next week and involves a long trip away from home.
9. no housework for mom.

While this is very exciting, there's a lot of work to prepare for this trip. I'm not sure I even know what all I need to do. I've never been gone this length of time before. Does anyone have any helpful tips for preparing to leave my house for a month?

No tips...sorry, but you're welcome to come and do some laundry at my house if you need some clean clothes while visiting the Rocky Mountains!

You can ask the post office and the newspaper to hold all your mail and papers and deliver them on the day you plan to return...that way you don't have to have to ask some one to get them or have them stack up!

I think this is great! I hope you have a terrific trip! Be careful and keep us blogging buddies posted! God Bless!

Don't have any new ideas Leah Belle...just things like having someone lined up to take care of any animals or indoor plants...maybe forward mail to a relative or close friend, stop the paper and maybe buy an automatic timer thing to make lights come on in your house. Otherwise, go, have a great time with family and remember that a house is just a house, but these memories will last a lifetime! Love ya girl!

This may or may not be helpful. Try to think of all of the things you use on a daily basis (sometimes you just don't even realize until you are without it). Its those little things that are taken for granted that you might need while you're gone.

turn thermostat down or off, turn off hot water heater, unplug appliances that won't be used...like the oven, microwave, etc., i always change my sheets before i leave so that when i come home at least one thing is ready for me :). make sure someone takes care of your plants and any small animals you may care about that you're leaving behind.

i hope you have a restful time! let me know if you make it out to denver!
