Yesterday, we attended a presentation by local game wardens about alligators. Apparently, more of them than I knew live in our area. It's a little unnerving to think about, so I just tried to concentrate on the fascinating facts that we were learning.

I was very proud of our son who was brave enough to hold both of the alligators. This picture shows him holding the smaller of the two.

After the alligator presentation, we strolled through some of the trails at the park. Here are some of the creatures we saw.

This one gave me the "creepy-crawlies."

A lizard of some sort:

This one's nice and cute, but I couldn't help wondering if there were any alligators lurking nearby.

The best part of the day, as always, was watching my children's awe and wonder:

You are BRAVE, girl!

We went to a nature center in my hometown last week and saw alligators, turtles, and SNAKES. Ugh. You couldn't have bribed me with anything to pick up that gator though!

Oh my! When we lived on the gulf coast gators were everywhere. One lady in our church had some that would come up out of the river and sunbathe in her yard. ICK!

Although, there have been some caught around here this year, I am glad there aren't as many. It looks like you all had a great time learning about the animals.

Look at you holding a GATOR! At first I thought there would be no way that I would do that until I saw the band around his mouth. I might do it that way - I'd like to feel the texture of a alligators.

I like that pic of your kids taking it all in. Not so fond of the spider pic - yuck!!

My blog fast begins now.
